In June 1999, the Hauser & Wirth Collection opens to the public, presenting rotating exhibitions of selected works from the collection in a former locomotive shed or roundhouse, the so-called 'Lokremise', near St. Gallen's main train station. The first exhibition, curated by Eva Meyer Hermann, is 'Dimensions of the Mind: The Denial and the Desire in the Spectacle' in 1999, featuring new works by Paul McCarthy.
