A notebook of colour drawings made for the Urban Zellweger exhibition at the Kunstverein Nürnberg in July 2018. The title of the exhibition and of the book refer to a glue special used for gluing faux turf on architectural models. A reference perhaps to a pictorial technique, to a more dangerous and hallucinogenic substance, which allows a travels to imaginary and surreal characters and landscapes. Urban Zellweger mixes in his work drawing and painting, both figurative and abstract. The bodies of his characters combine, blend and sometimes dissolve in the background of the page or painted surface. These very drawn, often linear, sinuous and light figures, oscillate between a style childish and a more pictorial, sophisticated, fluid and sensual treatment. They can be strange, comic enough, ironic, funny, threatening, sometimes monstrous and almost unidentified, but also more dreamlike and poetic, disappearing into sketched landscapes that are often immaculate, vaporous, leaving the subject to emerge or drown in them.
